Never walk into any party empty handed! 5 Minute Salmon Dip is a great and easy recipe for those last minute gatherings! With lots of salmon and capers and just a pinch of smoked paprika it is absolutely scrumptious!
It seems like there’s a movie day, book club meeting, or some other non-food related event, which is actually still a food related event every week. A gathering at a friends house where the focus is not food but you still walk in with a dish of something or another because walking in empty handed is rude. That’s what my mom always taught me. So, I am always looking for something easy and tasty that I can take with me. I especially love dishes where I already have everything I need to make it. Like this 5 Minute Salmon Dip.
To begin with, yes I always have salmon in the freezer. Once every 3 months or so I head over to the fish market to buy a whole salmon. They clean it, skin it and cut it up for a very reasonable price. But guess what I just found out?!! The Fish Market is goooooooone! Yea gone! Welcome to Shanghai people. Here today. Gone tomorrow. Luckily I have the contact information for my fish guy. Let’s just hope he moved and isn’t gone forever.
What if he is?! Where do I go now for fresh salmon? I have to believe one of you have a good connection to a fish supplier!
I used regular fresh salmon, not smoked because my kids aren’t huge fans of smoked salmon. To get that nice smokey flavor though, add a bit of smoked paprika!
Best part of this Salmon Dip? 5 Minutes! Seriously throw the cream cheese and salmon in a food processor, stir in the capers and extra bits of yumminess and voila! Your 5 Minute Salmon Dip is ready to serve.
Really crunched on time? Forget the vegetables and just serve it with crackers or tortilla chips. The salmon is the star of the dish so no matter what vessel you wish to serve it on, it’s delicious and amazing! The next time I make it I really want to try it on a sesame bagel!
