Have you tried BYFO Hot Sauce yet? With three unique flavours, they’ll add a delicious and spicy kick to any boring dish! Bring on the heat!
I first met Saira from BYFO Hot Sauce at a market in Shanghai. If I recall correctly it was at the Shanghai Centre Christmas Market and it was cold. Really cold. She stood in the cold, smiling, and chatting about her three sauces.
Before I tell you about BYFO’s sauces let met me tell how this magically spicy venture began. Sick and tired of the same boring hot sauce at every bar, the spicy entrepreneurs of BYFO decided it was time to come up with their own unique flavours. After lots of late nights, tweaking the recipes, having friends try sauce after sauce, they finally came up with 3 incredible flavours- Burn Your F*cking Face Off, Hot Flush and Yellow Fever.
With a name like Burn Your F*cking Face Off, I was really hesitant to try the sauces. I like a little kick but I wasn’t keen on going into shock in the middle of the market (I had some shopping to do!!) Cautious, I started off with the mildest of the 3 flavours, Hot Flush and thought ok all good- not spicy. Then to Yellow Fever…. Mmmmm… But I really had to muster up all of my courage, make sure I had a bottle of water ready to dip into the last and hottest flavor- Burn Your F*cking Face Off- HELLO HEAT! They were all so yummy, so I had another sample of each one just to make sure it was as awesome as my hungry taste buds told me they were!
Burn Your F*cking Face Off
Burn Your F*cking Face Off, which is the spiciest of the 3 sauces BYFO sells, has just enough heat to give your mouth a big kick while not preventing you from going in for a second bite. I expected a fire-alarm, smoke out of my ears hot sauce, but while it was definitely spicy it was still palatable for me. That’s good! You can actually enjoy the sauce without scrambling for something cold to stop your mouth from burning. My son, who is a hot sauce aficionado, loves to smother his chicken wings with the Hot Flush. He is obsessed!
While my son loves the Burn Your F*cking Face Off Hot Sauce, I love the Hot Flush! It’s more mild (which I prefer) and made with green chile peppers, lemon juice and garlic it has a delicious taste without burning my f*cking face off. And I appreciate that.
My favorite way to enjoy the Hot Flush? On my eggs! Sunny-side up, omelet, scrambled, with hash browns or without eggs taste so much better with that little green kick! So yummy!
That leaves us with Yellow Fever- BYFO’s Indian Curry inspired hot sauce! It is so good! No seriously! It’s like the flavors of Indian take-out dance in your mouth. It’s mild with a kick of curry spice. It adds a serious flavour boost to your homemade Indian curries, but I really thought Yellow Fever had the most unique and delicious taste.
A flavor that I couldn’t get anywhere else, so I just had to come up with a recipe to highlight the deliciousness of it! And I did just that! Tomorrow I will share with you a killer recipe using BYFO’s Yellow Fever Hot Sauce that is absolutely perfect for the holiday season! Yes that’s right- what goes together better than Christmas and Curry Sauce? Just you wait and see —
